Tasmania ("we") sends people job alerts in a private Discord channel. This page says what we collect, why, who else touches it, and how to get it deleted.
What we collect
- Your answers: the field and roles you want, your years of experience, remote/hybrid/on-site, the state you live in and the states you can work in, whether you need visa sponsorship, and how to treat jobs that need a security clearance.
- Contact details: your name, email and Discord username.
- Your resume, only if you choose to upload one.
- Payment details are handled by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see your card number; Stripe tells us your name, email and the amount paid.
- Basic technical data: a one-way scrambled version of your IP address (to stop spam signups), and ad tags in the link you arrived from (to see which ads work).
How we use it
- To filter job postings and send you the ones that fit, in your private channel.
- To set up your channel, answer your emails and fix problems with your alerts.
- If you asked to hear about referral help, to tell you when it's ready.
- To measure which ads bring people who sign up (counts only).
We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't send your resume or answers to employers.
Who else handles it
- DigitalOcean hosts our server in the United States.
- Stripe processes payments.
- Discord delivers your alerts. Your channel is private to you and the Tasmania admin.
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram), if we use its pixel to measure ads: it learns that a browser visited, started checkout or paid. It never receives your answers, contact details or resume.
How long we keep it
We delete your signup answers, contact details and resume 18 months after you sign up, or sooner if you ask. Our payment processor keeps payment records as the law requires.
Your choices
Email us to see what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Deleting it stops your alerts. You can leave the Discord server at any time.
Security
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Your data sits on a private server that only the Tasmania admin can log into, and resumes are stored where the website itself can't serve them to anyone.
Age
Tasmania is for people 18 and older.
